Commenting on the latest forecast from the Fraser of Allander Institute that 50,000 Scots could lose their jobs over the next two years as the recession bites, leader of the Liberal Democrats in Scotland Tavish Scott MSP said:
"The scale of the projected job losses is staggering. The report specifically identifies banking jobs as being part of the 50,000 jobs that could go.
"This has to be a wake up call to both the Scottish and UK Governments about the impact of the Lloyds' takeover of HBOS."
